This year we had a great turn out with 15 teams fielded from Gross Catholic, Papillion, Abraham Lincoln, Mount Michael, St. Albert, Central Academy and Burke High School. Teams competed in seven events: Death Star Laser Aiming, Boat Building, Chalk Talk (Space physics portrayed in film), Quiz Bowl, Circuit Building, and Toothpick Bridge Building (The complete program can be found here. And the winners of the 35th Annual CU Physics Field Day are... First Place: Central Academy (Team 1) Second Place: Gross Catholic (Team 5) Third Place: Central Academy (Team 2) Congratulations to all who participated! A photo album of the days event is being compiled and we will provide a link to that when its available. You can see previous Field Day winners in the Field Day Hall of Fame. |

| 01/13/2013 - 14:48 | Field Day 2013 - The Space Race |
This spring, the Creighton University Society of Physics Students (CUSPS) will sponsor Physics Field Day, a day of activities and excitement for high school students. The theme of the 2013 Physics Field Day is "The Space Race," with a secondary theme of "The Last 50 years" to honor the 50th Anniversary of CUSPS! The day is filled with competitions that require understanding and application of basic physical principles. We in the CUSPS believe that physics can be enjoyed in a hands-on, competitive spirit. There is an event for everyone! It is our hope that the diversity of the Physics Field Day events will encourage many students to participate and challenge themselves. Information on how to register for this event is found in the attached rulebook. |
