Energy Technology Program Faculty and Staff

Mr. Larry Hopp, Director of Energy Technology Program, joined us in January of 2014 following a 41 year career as a civil engineer in the construction industry.  Larry teaches the sustainable energy senior capstone classes, sustainability in the built environment, internship, and seminar in engineering.  Larry studied at Iowa State University.

Dr. Scott Williams, Assistant Director of Energy Technology Program. Scott H. Williams, Ph.D. joined the Energy Technology program in Aug of 2015.  Dr. Williams studied at Iowa State University for his undergraduate (B.S. in Materials Engineering, 2005), and graduate (Ph.D. in Materials Sciecne & Engineering, 209).  He is interested in energy in all forms and from diverse sources. In particular, he is focused on bioenergy and biofuel, which he researched during a two-year appointment as a postdoctoral researcher at Johns Hopkins University, prior to starting at Creighton.

Dr. Williams teaches 3D Design / 3D Printing for the Creighton Energy Technology program.  Software packages include Google SketchUp, Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit & Inventor, and SolidWorks.  Hardware capabilities include an Epilog 120W laser cutter, a 3D scanner, a MakerBot 3D printer, two StrataSys Dimensions series 3D printers, and an ADMET Universal Testing Machine.  Students use these techniques to design and prototype energy systems and components.
